Introducing Matthew! The inspiration behind our business! Matthew has Type 1 Diabetes, Hashimoto’s, Celiac, Autism and Anxiety. He has been fighting an uphill battle since we almost lost him at 13 months to DKA with brain damage and was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. He has his Associates in Science from Brookdale and up until this past December has been working part time in retail since he turned 18. Unfortunately, the world we currently live in is not as patient and loving as it once was towards people that are neurodivergent. His medical conditions and autism have made working a full time job just about impossible for him. He has spent the last 6 months going on job interview after interview with no luck in securing a position. That’s when I started thinking outside the box: what interests Matthew, what knowledge can he share with the world, and how can he make a living on his time in his own unique way? This is when Nuts for Birds LLC was born! Matthew has been involved from the beginning and any facts/info you see here is from him! We are so grateful you are here considering our bird feeders and seed cakes for your backyard besties, and my Mama heart truly believes this business is our answer to helping Matthew live a life worth living.
